Four Books I Enjoyed this Spring

  • Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss – Great book highlighting the importance of negotiation in business and life. Chris explains the ideas well and communicates them through high stake scenarios where he was the lead hostage negotiator for the FBI. My favourite concept covered in the book was Black Swans (unknown unknown’s) and how they can affect strategy. 5/5

  • The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg – Highlights the importance of identifying habit cycles in life (Cue – Routine – Reward). I thought the importance of belief (>2 people) in following through with a habit was powerful when thinking about the habits that have stuck with me. Keystone Habits (simple habits which have a big impact on other areas of life) were interesting too! 4/5

  • Shoe Dog by Phil Knight – Fantastic read. Inspiring story with great advice for entrepreneurship, business and life. The importance of running in Phil’s life was something I could relate to a lot. Simple acts of gratitude, breaking the rules and grit were key topics too. 5/5
